Load-bearing panel buildings (XLAM)

In addition to providing waterproof construction roofing,
Montagnoli Evio also constructs wooden buildings with the
load-bearing panel technique.
As the name of the technique suggests, the building's walls and floors are made out of solid wood panels with cross layers, resulting in similar strength and robustness to the well-built brick constructions of Italian and European tradition.

Our durable XLAM wooden structures, combined with waterproof roofing, allow for the construction of robust, long-lasting buildings.

Frame buildings

Located in Arsago Seprio, but known throughout the province of Varese for its production of waterproof construction roofing, Montagnoli Evio also specialises in constructions using the platform frame technique to build wooden structures for
single-floor or multi-floor buildings.

Platform frame buildings feature walls and floors constructed from frames made out of small-diameter wood elements placed at a fixed distance of 40-60cm from one another. Structural wooden panels (plywood or OSB) are secured to one or both sides of this structure with either nails or screws.

The walls are finished by installing insulation within the hollow part of the frame. Insulation materials include wood fibre and rock wool; a vapour barrier is placed on the warm side of the material.

The insulation layer fills the wall frame cavity only in part. The remainder houses utility wires and pipes.
